Journeying in Tandem

Is it for us?

The programme is open to young committed couples, married or unmarried. It is based on the Christian ethos, but welcomes people of all faiths and none. It proposes an approach to build a lasting couple relationship and discover or reconnect with a life of faith.

Its structure, based on a team of up to 5 young couples and an accompanying couple, also offers an opportunity where young couples can grow together, sharing their experience in a confidential, open-minded and safe environment. You will discover the riches of couple dialogue and also of team sharing!

Tandem is NOT a pre-marriage course or a counselling course.
How long is the programme, and where is it based?
The programme consists of about 14 monthly meetings. The team will meet in person or online, according to the location of the participants. If the couples live at a reasonably close distance, we will organize an in-person programme. If that is not possible, we are happy to facilitate the programme online. Online meetings last 1 and a half hour roughly. The meetings in person may last around 2 and a half hours - because they may involve sharing a dinner!

Who is delivering the programme?
The programme is delivered by an accompanying couple who has been married for over 15 years. They are supposed to have experience to share, but we can assure you that there's a lot to learn for them from young couples too!! A chaplain may also be present.

What will we talk about?

Every meeting has a theme that the couples are invited to reflect on. The topics are relevant to the daily life shared in the couple; some of them are more practical, while some are more reflective. Here are some examples of the topics that are proposed:

LISTENING

◦ TIME TO LIVE

◦ RELIGION AND ME

◦ THE IN-LAWS

◦ SUFFERING AND EVIL

◦ OUR WORK AND US - MONEY, MASTER OR SERVANT?

◦ FORGIVENESS WITHIN A COUPLE

◦ CONFLICT RESOLUTION

◦ SCREEN TIME

How much does it cost?

The programme is totally free.
